Brutal Tale – a five-star review.

BRUTAL TALE 10 May 2018cornfield with Jem and Ella ghosted, ODS cover and DD logo
This story is for those with a strong stomach. The passages aboard the convict ship are written so convincingly that they evoke the horrific conditions all too starkly. These were brutal times and the horrors unimaginable. The ‘hero’ and ‘heroine’ both endure treatments that reduce them to lower than the level of beasts of the field. Only their fierce love and loyalty to each other keep them trying in their bid for the unattainable. Excellent writing but a pitiless story which keeps one hoping against hope for a change in their fortunes. Am about to start reading the second book in this saga. – Amazon review.
